Anyone who maintains a blog is a blogger. Its a one of a kind community, idea and a spirit to share. I’d even call it the new gen that replaces the pen with the mouse. But then, where is this all heading? Money? Yup, that’s where it seems to be heading to. I read about making money through blogs in “Outlook Money” in a article titled Blog your way to the bank.
The article lists all that’s needed to setting up your blog, to sprucing it up with a custom design and placing Google Adsense. Had they removed the word ‘money’ from each and every paragraph of that article, it would’ve been one great report on blogging and the blogosphere. Well, its just the opposite that has been written and reading it makes me think about blogging. Money, money…Eww..
I agree, money is important, but setting up a blog just to earn cash?? The Primary intent of a blog is defeated, We cannot live for ourselves alone. Our lives are connected by a thousand invisible threads, and along these sympathetic fibers, our actions run as causes and return to us as results. That’s where a blog helps!
Every individual has his/her own style of writing, that’s something which should attract a reader and not the style in which ads are placed in the blog. One reason why many don’t switch to self hosted blogs is for the prime reason that they’d like to keep their blog as a blog and not end up changing the whole point of it. So, forget the moolah work on your audience. That counts !!
I’ve switched to Dreamhost and its simply awesome. Being used to Netfirms’ cPanel, Dreamhost’s custom panel is so cool and easy to use. So, why did I switch to Dreamhost?
There are many Hosting Providers out there. But not many are cheap, reliable and offer amazing support at the same time. If you’re like me, and have tried out a few Providers then you will probably have some reasons as to why you are a DreamHoster, a Happy one.
I’ve switched my domains to DH and it should take sometime for the transfers to complete. Meanwhile, I’ve launched my very own Design Studio, Beatit.in.
I’ve always wanted to have my very own design studio for all the work that I do. The change to DH just made it happen The name happens to be inspired from my blog’s name, slight alteration though. Looking forward to make all my sites go live
It has been a great day I ended the day as usual without touching my book and I have an exam tomorrow. Time to panic? Na, It happens, Always!!
My domain is set to expire in a few days and I have to renew it asap. Planning to switch hosts after 5 whole years. I’ve been with Netfirms for 5 years now(I will continue to for my blogs) but now I’m planning for a change. I’ve always loved Netfirms for the obvious reasons. Easy, efficient and Bang for money. Though there have been many complaints over server uptime, I have to admit that I’ve never had any problem of that sort for multiple sites over the period of time.
So, why the change? Well, my needs are varied now. Its gonna be demanding and I need a better solution. My dreams of coming up with my own Design studio is possible with this as well. Watch out for future announcements
I’ve been doing my share of research and am planning to make a switch to either Dreamhost or Bluehost. Though Mediatemple(mt) has been very attractive in terms of a highly advanced Grid-Server, it simply doesn’t fit my pocket and so I’m passing on that.
Now comes the problem of choosing one. I have to be careful with this as I can’t switch for another year. Both hosts offer a good annual package which is really worth the money. Its gonna be Dreamhost I guess. No webhost has ever been dedicated umpteen blog posts other than Dreamhost and that’s remarkable. Their user base is Massive and very happy. I’m hoping to join the happy club as well.
Btw,Nanowrimo started today and I’m yet to start my novel. I’d better go work on that now.
Nanowrimo – National Novel Writing month is about to start and I’m yet to decide on my novel.
The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30. Starting today, I’m planning to write regularly till I finish the 50000 limit. Its gonna be gr8 fun with exams round the corner. It has always been exams that has brought out the creativity in me. This is my first attempt, lets see
Tomorrow is a very special day Special due to only one reason and I’m not saying it Can’t wait !! Will work on my tensegrity tower tomorrow.. I’m planning to build it out of straw and rubber bands. I’ve been reading a lot lately and with useful tips from Suraksha I’m sure I can get it done.
I’ve always wanted to write my own techlog. Not the usual gizmodo, endgadget stuff, but things that I find interesting, useful and out of the ordinary.

Had CAT exams today and for the first time in 3 yrs, I went to college without a book. Yeah, I did !! It’s not easy for me, cos there is no ADI in my class 
First up I had to hunt for the Question bank and a text. Bubbly, ‘the padips’ was my target but then she escaped. Will get you one day. After failed attempts I decided on writing my own book. Yeah, I did!! Time spent during holidays with PHP and MySQL paid off finally.
I somehow managed to get hold of a Question Bank and then went around reading questions and taking important hints thereby forming my own answers. A hour and Half and I was done with my book, DBMS for Dummies
Seeing me do this, my classmates made me teach them all and managed to learn from my book All of em are confident of 35+ thanks to my excellent teaching skills
And here comes the best part. They were excited after the performance in the first test and decided to follow the same for the second. Well, it backfired. First up, I didn’t have the mood and since Networks is easy I didn’t bother to study. Spent my time at the canteen. They waited till the last moment, expecting me to come and do the same. What did they think I’d do? Dilip’s teach yourself Networks in 24 minutes ??
Its been quite sometime since my last post, blame it on the weather. Its been raining On and Off and the weather is so good that the moment I take a book to read, it gets to be my pillow the next instant. Preparing for exams is the last thing on my mind, but then I have to thanks to my college 
Sigh !! But at least I’m fortunate enough to be enjoying the rains, unlike the others in Tamil Nadu and AP who have to bear the brunt. Scanning news channels and papers gives me the creeps. I had first hand experience navigating through water logged T Nagar and It wasn’t good.
Apart from the rains, it has been raining cash. The stock markets rising and I had my share of smiles with the rise as well Hitting 20k on the index and a Indian becoming the richest person just adds up and doubles the fun. Yeah, an Indian Mukesh Ambani made it and looks like I have to modify my 43 things list because of that. Now its not Gates but Mukesh Ambani that I have to take on !!
And coming to the most exciting part, the Apple fever. Looks like I’ll be getting a Mac after all… Yippee… Only 2 more months to go and I can already feel a white mac with a glowing apple on my lap. Ok, that’s not all. I read PSTAM’s iPhone review and the iPhone hack. Now I’d like to have the iPhone as well. So who’s gonna bear it, I’d better google that Fingers Crossed
